RETENTION AND NUTRIENTS
Fewer losses. More value with AWA®.
AWA® bio-wetting agent keeps water and fertilisers in the rhizosphere for longer, limits nutrient leaching and enhances uptake by roots.
Your investment, closer to the roots.
In light, sandy soils, water can move quickly into deeper layers, carrying nutrients with it. AWA® is particularly suited to these high-percolation conditions.
AWA® improves moisture retention and availability in the root zone. By keeping water and fertilisers in the rhizosphere for longer, it limits their movement into deeper layers and promotes uptake by roots.
Greater nutrient efficiency, fewer losses to the environment. Better use of water and fertilisation can help reduce nitrogen losses through leaching and the movement of nitrates into deeper soil layers and groundwater.
A wider wetted zone.
More uniformity, fewer concentration peaks.
AWA® promotes the redistribution of salts across a larger volume of soil explored by roots, limiting excessively localised concentrations.
Following fertiliser application, it promotes more stable and uniform electrical conductivity in the root zone, reducing the intensity of concentration peaks.
Less water applied, fewer salts added. For water of the same salinity, reducing the irrigation volume also reduces the amount of salt added to the farm.
Redistribution does not remove salts. Reducing irrigation does not, by itself, reduce soil salinity: management must maintain the drainage and leaching the crop needs.
A favourable environment for nutrition.
By improving the bioavailability of water and nutrients in the root zone, it supports fertiliser efficiency and crop uptake.
AWA® supports root-zone conditions related to cation exchange and nutrient availability.
The soil exchange complex temporarily retains cations such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and ammonium. A functional root zone helps the crop make use of these nutrients.
AWA® is compatible with all commonly used fertilisers, including calcium formulations.
Estimate the value of AWA® for your crop.
Calculate the estimated impact on water use, fertilisation and the financial balance of your crop cycle. Then explore the field experience behind AWA®: trials of the final formulation and demonstrations on commercial farms, with results on production, irrigation and crop development.
The available reports do not establish a general percentage reduction in nitrate leaching.
AWA® on your farm.
Why use AWA® in sandy soils?
Its formulation is designed to retain water and nutrients in light soils with high percolation, where water tends to move quickly.
Does AWA® remove salt from the soil?
No. A wider distribution of water helps spread salts and limit localised concentrations. Water quality and drainage remain key factors.
Are AWA® and AWA-AZUL® compatible?
Yes. AWA® is our bio-wetting agent for improving the distribution and availability of water and nutrients. AWA-AZUL® complements the range for infiltration, wetting and foliar application.
